Without Reserve!
Sunday, October 2, 2011
6:00 pm
"Without reserve!" has become a hallmark of BBWR, both in selection of exciting repertoire and in stunning performances. Indeed this is the title of the band's most recent CD. As we present a collection of audience favorites we hope that you'll feel that we have given of our best in order to entertain you.
Holy Brass
Saturday, November 12, 2011
7:00pm
"There is nothing equal to the sound of a good brass band playing a hymn tune" is a widely held view. Indeed brass band libraries are full of excellent repertoire with a spiritual theme, not least as a result of the strong brass band tradition within The Salvation Army. We draw on that repertoire this evening in a program which will include Bach's "Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring" as well as BBWR soloists Chris Lichtler (cornet) in "This Is My Story" and Anthony Chiporo (flugel horn) with "You Raise Me Up".
A Celebration of Christmas
Saturday, December 17, 2011
7:00pm
BBWR again welcomes special guests the Field High School Concert Choir and the Summit Bells to present an exciting collection of seasonal music. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and relax to the sounds of some of the most beautiful Christmas music. Profits from this evening will benefit The Salvation Army.
Slavonic Brass
Saturday, March 3 2012
7:00pm
Music from eastern Europe and Russia is often very exciting in nature and translates very readily to the brass band. Stirring music from the pens of Dvorak, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky will be included in this evening's program.
A Taste Of Tuba
Saturday, May 12, 2012
7:00pm
We are delighted to welcome internationally-acclaimed tuba soloist, Patrick Sheridan, as our soloist for this evening's concert. It was in 2002 that he last performed with the band and so a return visit is long overdue! You'll be amazed at what a tuba can do in his hands!
