Michael Skotko

Michael is a semi-professional trumpet player in the Northeast Ohio area. He began playing in the 5th grade at Hickory Ridge Elementary School. Michael has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance at Kent State University and studied a Masters of Music in Trumpet Performance at Penn State University. 

Michael first joined The Brass Band of the Western Reserve in 2006 playing Eb Soprano Cornet. He took a leave of absence from the band towards the end of 2010 when he moved to Pennsylvania to study his masters degree and returned to the band in 2014.

Michael has played at many prestigious venues in his professional career including Severance Hall, The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall.

Currently, Michael resides in Stow with his wife Marisa and his dog Tucker. He is an IT professional working at Kent State University.
